Yes! it is super early to put up the Christmas decorations! We like to decorate at the week-end and Husb was keen to do it yesterday. This year we have had a major change in tree colour. Since the Millenium we've had white, silver and blue (and purple too). Now we've changed to red, gold (and green). I do miss the white 'snowball' lights we used to put on but apart from that it's been GREAT to have another colour scheme.
Last year we began a new tradition where the children each recieved a new special tree decoration. We didn't have a proper tree last year because Jasper was only 3 months old and wasn't going outside yet & we had to watch him nearly constantly, so we thought a tree would be too much of a climbing temptation for him. Last year we had a small gold tree... Tiger girl is looking at her special tree decoration.
This year their special decoration was red & gold to go with the new colour scheme. Smurf loved his.

At the end Husb always puts the angel on the top of the tree (just like my dad always did). You may notice there are two angels. That's because when we had our first Christmas tree we found it expensive to buy all the decorations at once... so when it came time to buy the angel we just got a very flimsy one then in later years a proper more substantial one but didn't want to part with the old one. Hence we have 2!
Lovely new green & gold garland with red berries on for the mantle piece. Green & red candle holders too.
We also have a Nativity set, being unpacked here by Smurf and set out on the hearth...
