Free Amigurumi Pattern for a Snowman Toy
Copyright A.B. McKenna 2009
I designed this pattern as a toy, but he would make a sweet Christmas tree decoration by simply adding a loop (see Christmas tree baubles pattern for instructions on how to make a nice loop). Feel free to sell any toys you make, but do not sell my pattern. If you pass on the pattern to someone else, please direct them to my blog. Thanks.

Sewing up the snowman toy
As this is a toy, make sure to sew the parts together firmly.
Refer to the photograph.
Use the yarn tails in the sewing up of the toy.
Sew the three white snowballs together.
Make the hat by first taking the large black rectangle (the stack part of the hat) and curl then sew it into a tube.
Then sew the small black circle (top part of the hat) to one end of the tube. Stuff this.
Finally, take the large black circle (brim part of the hat) and sew the tube centrally on the circle.
Wrap the scarf around the snowman’s neck and using some of the same crochet thread that the scarf was made with, tack the scarf to the body firmly.
Sew the nose to the snowman’s face.
Sew the completed hat firmly onto the snowman’s head (at a slight angle to give him character).
Sew eyes and a lopsided smile onto his face with black yarn.
Sew in any loose ends.
I think you have a thorough understanding in this matter. You describe in detail all here.

How big is the snowman when it is completed and how do I make a bigger one?

This toy came out as 5 inches. You can use a bigger hook and thicker yarn to make the toy bigger.
