I have been busy designing some crochet Nativity figures. They stand up on their own. So far I've made Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus...

Roman made the manger out of balsa wood and helped pose the figures...
Mary measures about 6cm or 2.5" and Joseph is a bit taller. Here's a close-up...
Before I stuffed Joseph and sewed on the base I wanted to show that the figures could be finger puppets too. The model below was Tiger-girl, (15 yo daughter), so Joseph fitted her pinky finger, but I think the puppets would be about right on a younger child...
The photo below shows the scale...
The patterns are publishing free, here on my blog... check out the left side-bar where I have other freebies. I plan to design some Shepherds, 3 Wise Men and an Angel and will add the patterns as I
finish them.

Aw, how cute are they. You'll have to put them all on your blog when you make them so that we can see them. Roll on Christmas. Love xxx

Thanks for sharing these patterns. I don't like the "cutesy" Nativity patterns I usually see and this suits me well.

Thank you so much for posting your Nativity pattern. I was searching for a pattern for my son's teacher and came across yours. Great design and good looking figures. I can't wait to get started and then make another set for myself!

I would really enjoy making this nativity scene, but I couldn't open the patterns. Is there anyway you could send them to me? I don't have a lot of computer experience. Just a granny wanting to make the nativity for 3 of my daughters. Thanks sooooo much if this can happen.

I'm looking forward to making these as finger puppets. The younger children will like that. Thank you for creating and sharing these.

God bless you a thousand times for your work in Kenya, and for making these nativity set patterns free. I'm out of work and appreciate it so much! We make a big manger scene at my church, but people will be charmed by the miniature one too. Many many thanks.
