I know it's a while to Christmas, but we crafters need time to make special handmade gifts, so here's a free pattern I made for a Snowman Motif...

This crochet snowman is designed to be an applique that can be sewn onto another project.  Here he is before I sewed him onto the stocking (99p from Hobbycraft). He's a snowman with attitude & is supposed to be on a jaunty angle!  He's about 5.5" tall...

 I used 4ply (Sports Weight)  PATONS cotton yarn and a 2mm (B) hook. 

Here are the components ready to be sewn together...

 

This is a fairly easy crochet project for a beginner/novice and will let you practice crocheting rows and in the round too.  Hope the free downloads are useful and don't forget I would love to see any projects you make (don't be shy leave a comment or link).
